Yep I just hit the 40 year mark! Forty! 40! It sounds so old to me! I don't feel what I thought 40 should feel like. I still feel 25 or maybe 30. :) It's true that age is a state of mind. I know some 30 year olds that still act 16 and I know some 14 year olds that act like they're 25.
I think getting a late start on family keeps me feeling younger than I am....although, at the same time, starting a family has certainly aged me quickly!
I kind of thought my day would feel somewhat monumental, but it was just another birthday. Actually, because we live in mormonland, and the 4th landed on Sunday, we celebrated the 4th on my birthday (the 5th.)
I wonder sometimes if I am getting wiser. I certainly know I've experienced a lot more than those in their 20's, but I wonder if I use my experiences wisely and learn from them? I hope so. Here's to another year. I'm going to love my 40's cause guess what comes next!

I was just having a convo. similar to this yesterday. My 32-35 year old girl friends were asking me how it feels to be 40. Since my kids are young, too, I mentioned just what you said. I think we are lucky to have little ones when we are soooo old :)
